If you’ve been paying attention, you’ve probably noticed that the knowledge of God’s glory has been rapidly increasing in many countries around the world including those in North Africa and the Middle East. There is growing evidence of an extraordinary harvest of Christ-followers from previously unreached nations, tribes and tongues. Muslims, Hindus, Animists, atheists, and “Christian” church goers alike are being drawn into a saving, flourishing relationship with Jesus Christ.Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this unfolding story is that God, just as He did in the first century, is using every day, frontline disciples and house churches to make this happen. And since these churches, led by called and gifted leaders, are God’s ordained model for individual and community transformation, we are committed to our mission here at M3 Global to multiply disciples, churches, and leaders until all have heard the Good News of Jesus!
It’s been said that the greatest joy in ministry for disciple makers is not making disciples but rather in seeing their disciples make their own disciples! We see this in the apostle Paul’s life and ministry. Paul’s discipleship was driven by a focus on reproduction and multiplication through the training and mentoring of others. Those Paul led to Christ and who who had a willingness to reproduce what was taught and modeled to them became Paul’s priority. Paul passes this charge on to Timothy in his second letter:
This “chain of discipleship” helps us see the great importance of equipping and mobilizing frontline disciples who are fully committed to equipping and mobilizing others.A wonderful example of this is Pastor Bedaso from Central Ethiopia (standing far right in the photo above). In September 2023, Bedaso attended our M3 disciple making and church planting training led by M3 tra
iner, Le’ul Wolde. Bedaso went back to his village and began using what he had learned to train and mentor others in his region. He is now reporting 3rd and 4th generations of disciples and church planters.
Here at M3 Global we believe the effectiveness of every disciple maker and church planter is measured not by how many disciples they train or the number of churches they plant, but in how many disciples their disciples train and how many churches their new churches plant. This pattern of multiplication continues to repeat itself within God’s sovereign pursuit of the nations and the exaltation of the one eternal Lord—King Jesus! May the earth be filled with the knowledge of His glory as the waters cover the seas!
