With much of the world focused on US elections occurring in a few days, I would like to use this opportunity to encourage you, our M3 friends and Kingdom Partners, to remain diligent in keeping your eyes fixed on the true prize which is this: the reclaiming of all nations for the eternal, glorious kingdom of Christ!
We know human kingdoms rise and fall, but the time is coming when Christ’s kingdom will be fully manifested on earth, just as it is in heaven. But when is this going to occur? When Jesus’ disciples asked Him this question, He gave them a clear and unmistakable answer: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” – Mark 24:14 (emphasis added).
This verse speaks distinctly and concisely about what has to occur before His kingdom fully comes. But the stark reality is 3.4 billion people are still living in nations where they will most likely live and die without ever having an opportunity to hear His Good News. As demonstrated on the map above, the church still has much work to do to reclaim the unreached nations (in red) — places still denied access to the gospel, churches, and the Bible.
This hard truth should lead every Christ-follower to ask themselves a second question: “What role is my Lord requiring of me to play in His redemptive plan to reach the unreached nations? Interestingly, Jesus gave His disciples a clear answer to this question as well: “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20 (emphasis added)
As a great preacher once pointed out, every Christ-follower has three options for responding to Jesus’ command to go to the unreached: One, go yourself. Two, pray and support someone else to go. Three, disobey the order. The bottom line is this, Jesus has given each of us the great privilege and responsibility to be a part of the reclaiming of the nations on His behalf. May He find us faithful in keeping our eyes on the true prize—His inherited Kingdom!
